The Hardback Café is our friendly, volunteer-run community café at Shadwell Library.
Come along for a freshly made light lunch, homemade cake, or simply a cup of tea or coffee. Our menu varies from week to week and includes a selection of soups, sandwiches, quiches and cakes, with vegetarian and gluten-free choices usually available.
Everyone is welcome – whether you’re meeting friends, visiting the library, passing through on a walk or cycle ride, or just fancy a coffee and a chat. Takeaway is also available.
The café is run entirely by volunteers, with profits supporting Shadwell Independent Library, including tips. Our prices are shown as a minimum donation, and anything you choose to give above that amount goes directly to supporting the library.
Payment is cash only.
